Content Area

The center column of the AllMyPDFs document window is the main area, which shows PDF content. It is split into an upper area where you can see lists of PDFs, and a lower area where you can see the content of a currenty selected PDF.

If a single PDF is selected in the left area of the window, then the whole content area shows the PDF content.

If a group folder is selected, the upper area shows the list of PDFs inside this group folder, while the lower area shows the string No Selection until you select an item from the list above.

If you select multiple folders or PDFs in the left area of the window, the content area informs you with the string Multiple Selection! that it cannot show sensible data for the selection.

But this main area not only serves for PDFs and groups, but also for the database categories. When you select a category in the left area, the content of the content area changes. You can e.g. search for certain PDFs or contents here. The search can be adjusted to your needs, adding or removing search criterias. When you choose the Trash category, you can select one or multiple PDFs and delete them finally or restore them.

Here is an overview of the upper area's content:

PDF content

Shows some navigation buttons in the top bar, plus a size slider which adjusts the size of the shown PDF content.

Group folder content

Shows a list of all PDF documents which are contained in this group folder. The top bar shows option buttons to switch between list view and icon view, plus a Search field. Note that the search range can be defined by clicking on the magnifier action menu.

Search database

Shows a [Search] button, followed by at least two rows of search criteria buttons and elements. Below the search criteria section, you see the found PDFs for the search criteria, if any.

Keywords database

Shows a list of used keywords in all registered PDFs, plus their uses in those PDFs.

Trash database

Shows a list of trashed PDFs. Above this list, you see a button row with a [Trash] button, which irrevocably deletes the selected PDFs from the database. The [Recycling] button right to the Trash button moves all selected PDFs from the Trash back to the Collection.

Hint: Please note that they are re-added simply to the list of collected PDFs in the left area of the AllMyPDFs document window, but not to their former place e.g. inside a group folder.

Depending on whether you have selected PDFs, group folders, or database categories in the left outline view, the lower area in the main column also changes its contents.

Here is an overview of the lower area's content:

PDFs The whole content view shows the PDF contents. There is no lower area view.
Group folder The lower area shows No Selection or the content of the currently selected PDF. If you select more than one PDF in the upper area, the lower area informs about this Multiple Selection!
Search The lower area shows No Selection or the content of the currently selected PDF. If you select more than one PDF in the upper area, the lower area informs about this Multiple Selection!
Keywords Shows the PDFs which use a keyword that you have selected in the list above.
Trash Shows the content of the selected PDF from above.

Hint: Whenever you see a PDF content view, you can simply right-click on it to open a context menu which offers zoom options, page view options and two entries for browsing to the next or previous page. You can even select text in the PDF content view, which then shows an enlarged context menu:
