The ITF 14 barcode presents the Shipping Container Symbol Code. Using this code, cartons or palettes are labeled which contain products which have been labeled with an GTIN-13 code. In this case, a cypher is prepended to the GTIN-13 code which classifies the type of package.

The ITF 14 code is built as follows:

• The first digit is the type of package.
• The following 12 digits represent the product code (the 12 first digits of an GTIN-13 code).
• The last place is the check digit, which will be computed by Barcody Express automatically.
