The OPC barcode is also known as Optical Product Code, VCA
Barcode, VCA OPC, Vision Council of America OPC Barcode.
The OPC is a 10-digit, numeric code that identifies the product
and the manufacturer. The structure of the OPC code is the following:
- 5 digits for Manufacturer Identification Number assigned by the
Optical Product Code Council, Inc.
- 4 digits Item Identification Number assigned and controlled by
the optical manufacturer. The item identification number must be
unique to each individual product.
- 1 digit for checksum which is automatically calculated by
Barcody Express.
