Services BlogAssist Window

This is the BlogAssist Services window. It is accessed via the Services menu, supported in most Mac OS X applications. Simply select some text in any document, hit [Command][<] (typed as [Command][Shift][,]), and this window appears with the selected text already in the Value 1 field. If you first copy a URL or other text to the clipboard, it automatically appears in Value 2 – useful for Web Link and other operations that take two values.

The window can be resized, and each of the text areas within it can be resized or even hidden via the splitters: drag the dots to change the proportions.

The top two text areas are for input: values to combine with the operation template. Unlike the system menu, there are two values available here, so you can for example have link text and a URL, as shown in the screenshot above. Below that is a menu of operations that can be performed. Then at the bottom of the window is the result of the operation and a preview of how it would be rendered in a web browser.

Once you've displayed this window, you can edit either of the Value fields if desired, choose the desired operation, and hit OK to dismiss the window and drop the marked up text back into your document or web page. Very easy.
