Free Text annotations draw a post-it style note directly on the page on which they are created. To create a free text annotation select the free text annotation option from the menus and either click on a page, or drag a selection rectangle on a page. The first method will create a default sized annotation, the latter option will create an annotation sized according to the selection rectangle. Editing is done in the Contents field of the Dynamic Annotations Inspector or by double clicking the annotation and editing inline.
