The main window (or Document window) is made up of three areas:
Preview area – the large area in the top left of
the window.
This is where you can preview your presentation. What you see here
corresponds to the Scrubber in the Timeline. You may also change the
positioning of your clips by just clicking on them and
moving/re-sizing/rotating, etc.
Timeline – the bottom part of the window.
This area represents a horizontal timeline. You place clips into
the timeline. The Scrubber in the timeline shows where in time you are
editing your presentation.
Properties – the top right side of the window.
This area allows you to edit the properties of all of your clips
(Screen, Video, Audio, Text). Here, you can add all sorts of effects,
from reflection to volume changes.
Both the Preview Area and Timeline can be used to edit clips in your presentation.
Which area you will use depends on whether you want to edit the where the object is physically shown, or when it starts and stops:
When – the timing of when objects start and stop.
You use the Timeline to adjust when objects start and stop in your
presentation.
Where – the placement of objects on the canvas.
You use the Preview Area to move objects around inside the canvas.
For example, if you want to set the size of an object to 50% and
move it to the bottom right corner of the presentation, you would do
this in the Preview area.
