The above image shows the various parts of the timeline:
At the top of the timeline, there are tick marks which designate time.
In the image above, they are 1s, 2s, 3s, etc. The s
designates seconds, so 1 second, 2 seconds, 3 seconds, etc.
To zoom the time scale, use the slider () at the very bottom left of the window.
The Scrubber is the gray triangle with the red line coming down from it. It defines where in the presentation you are currently editing.
The gray box with the icon and clip name (in the above case,
named Screen Recording
), is a clip.
Since the left side of the clip starts at time 0, and the right side ends at 7.5, when you play the presentation, the clip will start playing when the Scrubber passes time 0, and stop playing when the Scrubber passes time 7.5.
You can add Markers to the timeline by using the Markers :
Add option
in the Edit menu.
Markers show up in the header of the timeline.
