List View

Grid View

Group View

General

  1. Search field: allows you to quickly locate the items with different criteria. You can choose to create a new box with the found items or just select them.
  2. Burn: burn the content of a selected box. An option window will open.
  3. Move and Copy: move (if the new location is in the same disk) or copy (if the location is in another disk) the selected items or the content of a selected box. An option window will open.
  4. Trash: trash the selected items or the content of a selected box. An option window will open.
  5. Export: export the duplicate items list in HTML or text format.
  6. Information panel: shows information about the selected items.
  7. Path list: shows the path of the selected item.
  8. Show/Hide the info panel.
  9. Shows items in a list or in a grid view.
  10. Show/Hide Group view.
  11. Show/Hide Box system.
  12. Check button: shows some options to quickly select the duplicates.
Box system (Grid and List view])

  1. Delete button: deletes any chosen smart box.
  2. Modify button: opens the smart box modification window for any chosen smart box.
  3. Hide button: hides any chosen smart box.
  4. Show button: create a new file kind box or show a previously saved smart box.
  5. Creates a new Smart Box.
  6. Creates a new Manual Box.
  7. Search criteria description: contains the description of the criteria used for the search (Advanced Mode) or the Smart Search used (Simple Mode).
  8. All items found box: contains all the found items. Since Tidy Up reports all the items that match the chosen criteria, do not remove the content of this box otherwise you’ll lose data.
  9. Info button: contains information about the box.
List View

  1. Group number: it’s the unique ID assigned to each group of duplicates.
  2. Check/Uncheck (or flag/unflag) items: you can use command key + x as a shortcut.
  3. Priority: shows the priority assigned in the Sources to the location that contains the item.
  4. Finder label: shows the label assigned in the Finder.
  5. Tidy Up label: shows the label assigned by Tidy Up (only if multiple locations are chosen for the search).
  6. File Kind Box.
  7. Items to Remove box: based on the priorities chosen, contains the items to remove. It is always suggested to do a backup before removing.
  8. Master box: based on the priorities chosen, contains the items to keep.
  9. Tag Boxes: they contain all the items found that reside in that location.
Grid View

  1. Increase/reduce the icon size.
  2. Sorting pop-up menu: allows you to sort the items with several criteria.
  3. Quick Smart Box.
  4. Manual Box.
  5. All but one item of each duplicate group box: contains all the items of each duplicate group but one, chosen randomly. It is not directly affected by search filters-locations of the items, size, date, etc.
  6. An item of each duplicate group box: contains a randomly chosen item for each duplicate group. It is not directly affected by search filters-locations of the items, size, date, etc.
Group View (Box system turned off)

  1. Group number: it's the unique ID assigned to each group of duplicates.

  1. Finder tag: shows the tag assigned in the Finder.
  1. Sorting pulldown menu: allows you to sort the groups with several criteria.
  2. This number indicates how many duplicates have been checked out of the total number.
